Saratoga County resident Thon Baker, of Lake Luzerne, was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 2, on assault and other charges, according to New York State Police.

Troopers were initially called at around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, for a severely injured person in the town of Hadley, on Stewart Bridge Road.

An investigation found that Baker got into an argument with the victim and intentionally struck the person with her car. After driving over the victim, she then fled the scene without calling 911, troopers said.

A passerby later spotted the victim and called an ambulance. The victim was treated at Albany Medical Center and is expected to survive.

Baker initially refused to cooperate with investigators but finally surrendered to the State Police facility in Wilton.

She is charged with assault, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

Following her arraignment in Day Town Court, Baker was released to the Saratoga County Probation Department.
